Focus a field, then type into it. A locator’s fill does both: it taps the field, then types.

Text uses a US-layout keyboard, and one request is limited to 4,096 UTF-8 bytes. The phone types printable ASCII. It skips unsupported characters, including emoji, when the request is otherwise within the limit. To submit a form or trigger the keyboard’s Go or Search action, press Enter after typing. fill uses DCP Locator.fill, and typing into the focused field uses Keyboard.typeText. Neither is a REST operation.
