Axilio reads CLI configuration from command-line flags, environment variables, and saved local state. More specific values win.

Inspect the effective state

  • axilio config prints the effective API host, authentication source, active organization, config path, and sessions directory without making a request.
  • axilio status verifies the effective credential against the API.
  • axilio doctor checks authentication, connectivity, account state, the CLI version, configuration paths, and the selected session.

Save or clear values

For a non-interactive API-key login, keep the value out of command history:
Pass an API origin without /api/v1 to the CLI. Authentication and organization selection use their dedicated commands.

Resolution precedence

The first non-empty value wins:An API key belongs to one organization. Organization selection applies to a browser OAuth session, not to an API key from a different organization.

Global flags

Phone commands also accept --session <session-id>. Run axilio <command> --help for command-specific flags.

Environment variables

Per-command overrides

The CLI exposes API-key, base-URL, and organization overrides as global flags. It does not expose per-request HTTP retry or deadline options.

Local state

Unless XDG_CONFIG_HOME is set, CLI state lives under ~/.config/axilio. On Windows that is %USERPROFILE%\.config\axilio.Deleting local state does not release a remote phone. Stop the session first:

Next steps
